Mala beads are a set of beads that have traditionally been used in prayer or meditations. However, you don't have to be religious or spiritual, anyone can wear these beautiful pieces of jewellery. 

The semi-precious gemstones used in each of our designs are believed to offer different healing properties that can help to calm the mind and provide inner peace.

History of a Mala

Mala beads have been used by yogis and spiritual seekers for thousands of years to help keep their minds focused during meditation. Malas were first created in India 3000 years ago (with roots in Hinduism & Buddhism) and were used for a special style of meditation called Japa, which means, “to recite”. The term ‘mala’ is a Sanskrit word for “meditation garland.”

If you have a very active mind and find it hard to switch off, Mala beads are a brilliant way to create a steadier mental rhythm. They focus your attention on one mantra, one bead at a time, for a total of 108 rounds.

Each Mala is made using genuine gemstone beads and either rosewood, bayong wood or sandalwood. Each one is hand knotted with love and care.
